Two North Haven Elementary Schools Make U.S. News' 2027 Connecticut Rankings

North Haven, Connecticut

NORTH HAVEN, CT — Two North Haven elementary schools made U.S. News & World Report's 2027 Best Elementary Schools rankings for Connecticut, released Tuesday, Oct. 20. Green Acres Elementary ranked 18th in the state and Clintonville Elementary 41st, Patch reported.

How the Rankings Were Built

Patch reported that U.S. News assessed about 46,000 public elementary schools nationwide, drawing on state education agency and U.S. Department of Education reading and math results. RTI International data also contributed to the 2027 rankings.

The approach weighs state-assessment results and student backgrounds while tracking performance at every proficiency level. Eric Brooks, U.S. News director of education data analysis, said readers get a "richer, more complete picture" of how schools drive student growth through the rankings.

The rankings included schools serving pre-K through fifth or sixth grade, along with schools with broader grade ranges. For those schools, only results through fifth grade counted. Student-teacher ratios break ties in overall scores.

Where North Haven's Schools Landed Statewide

Riverside School in Greenwich claimed the top spot in Connecticut. Veterans Park Elementary in Ridgefield and Bugbee School in West Hartford followed in second and third place, according to Patch's report.

Green Acres ranked 18th, ahead of Clintonville at 41st.
