Wallingford Plans Quinnipiac Street Bridge Culvert Meeting

WALLINGFORD, CT — Wallingford will hold a public informational meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28, on its plan to replace the Quinnipiac Street bridge with a concrete box culvert, the town said. The meeting is in person in Room 315 at Town Hall, 45 South Main St., and is open for public comment.

The Culvert Would Carry Quinnipiac Street Over the Wallace Head Race

The town is finishing design plans for a new culvert, 6 feet wide and 4 feet high, to carry the road over the Wallace Head Race. The town plans to take the old bridge out completely. WMC Consulting Engineers is handling the design, and final plans are expected by early 2027.

Construction Is 100% State Funded

The state will pay for all of the construction through its Local Transportation Capital Improvement Program, known as LOTCIP, according to the town's notice. The notice gives no project cost and no date for construction to begin.

What the Meeting Is For

The town says the session is meant to give residents a full chance to take part and to talk through any views or comments they have about the project.
