Motorcyclist Dies After Mountain Road Crash in Cheshire
The Cheshire Police Department responded to a motorcycle crash on Mountain Road near Sorghum Mill Drive around 10:17 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, and the operator was pronounced dead at the scene.
The motorcycle was traveling southbound when the driver lost control and left the right side of the roadway, according to the preliminary investigation. The operator was ejected and struck a utility pole.
Trinity Ambulance personnel pronounced the operator dead at the scene. The rider was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
Cheshire Police Continue Collision Investigation
Authorities withheld the rider’s identity pending next-of-kin notification. The crash involved one motorcycle, according to the preliminary investigation described by police.
The Cheshire Traffic Division and the Naugatuck Valley Collision Investigation Team investigated the scene. The investigation remains active.
