DURHAM, CT — Durham voters will decide Monday, Oct. 5, whether to transfer up to $12,720 for fire hose purchases and elect members to several town and regional boards at the annual town meeting. The town’s meeting notice lists a 7 p.m. start at the Community Center, 144 Pickett Lane.
The proposed transfer would move up to $12,720 from the Fire Department Equipment Reserve to the Fire Department Equipment Capital Improvement Program account for fire hose purchases. The reserve currently holds $12,720. Board of Finance minutes show the board recommended the transfer after hose testing revealed failures. The notice makes the purchase subject to procurement requirements.
The town's meeting notice says voters will decide when to hold the Annual Budget Meeting and elect members to four boards: one vacancy and two additional terms on the Compensation Review/Personnel Policy Board, three seats on the Board of Library Directors, two seats on the Durham Volunteer Fire Company Board of Trustees, and two seats on the Regional School District 13 Finance Committee.
