Cheshire residents have multiple opportunities this week to engage with local government and participate in upcoming town meetings. The first event is the Town Council Ordinance Review Committee Meeting on Tuesday, February 18, 2026, at 6:30 PM at Town Hall, 84 South Main Street. This session will focus on reviewing proposed municipal ordinances, with agendas available online ahead of time.
A busy evening is scheduled for Monday, February 23, 2026, when several commissions meet simultaneously. At 7:00 PM, the Energy Commission will convene in Room 210 at Town Hall to discuss local energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives. Also at 7:00 PM, the Planning and Zoning Commission will hold a regular meeting in the Council Chambers, followed immediately by a Public Hearing on the same day at the same location. These sessions may include discussions on land use, development proposals, and zoning regulations.
Also on February 23, a Special Meeting of the Library Advisory Board will take place at 7:00 PM in The Loft Meeting Room at Cheshire Public Library, 104 Main Street. This special session may address library programming, facility updates, or community outreach efforts.
On Wednesday, February 25, 2026, the Public Building Commission meets at 7:00 PM in the Council Chambers at Town Hall to review infrastructure and municipal building projects. The following day, Thursday, February 26, the Water Pollution Control Authority gathers at 6:30 PM in the same location to discuss wastewater management and environmental compliance.
Later that evening, the Next Generation School Building Committee meets at 7:00 PM in Room 207/209 at Town Hall to continue planning for future school facilities and educational infrastructure improvements.
Looking ahead, Monday, March 2, 2026, features two evening meetings at Town Hall. At 7:30 PM, the Zoning Board of Appeals will convene in the Council Chambers to hear appeals and variances related to zoning regulations. Simultaneously, the Historic District Commission will meet in Room 207/209 to review applications for exterior changes within Cheshire’s historic districts.
On Tuesday, March 3, the Cheshire Performing and Fine Arts Committee meets at 6:30 PM at Artsplace, 493 West Main Street, 2nd Floor, to discuss cultural programming and arts events. The week concludes with the Town Beautification Committee meeting on Wednesday, March 4, at 8:30 AM in Room 207/209 at Town Hall, focusing on landscaping, public spaces, and community aesthetics.
The Planning and Zoning Commission will meet again on Monday, March 9, 2026, at 7:00 PM in the Council Chambers, continuing its regular review of development projects and land use policy.
