Bridgeport Government Roundup: Council Agenda, School Board Goals

City Council

BRIDGEPORT, CT — The City Council's Monday, Sept. 21 agenda listed a 7 p.m. meeting in City Hall Council Chambers at 45 Lyon Terrace and a Hispanic Heritage Month kickoff ceremony. The ceremony featured Board of Education students and a procession with various Hispanic flags. The agenda also listed approval of the council's Monday, June 15, 2026, minutes.

Bridgeport's Proposed Settlements and Board Referrals

Communications listed for referral to the Miscellaneous Matters Committee included proposed settlements in the cases of Xander Thomas v. City of Bridgeport and Monica Mojica v. City of Bridgeport, et al. The agenda also listed Mayor's appointments of Rosella Criss to the Ethics Commission and Chandra Maxwell to the Commission for People with Disabilities, plus Suzanne Lesko's reappointment to the Parks Board. Bridgeport’s School Board Regular Meeting Is Sept. 28

The Board of Education’s regular meeting Monday, Sept. 28, at 6:30 p.m. lists approval of the board goals created at the Sept. 21 special meeting on its consent agenda, with the Sept. 14 minutes. New business includes a proposed settlement agreement involving a minor, a presentation of the district’s security, safety and emergency preparedness plan, and a first read of an amended policy on the lottery process.
