The Bridgeport Board of Education held its regular meeting on February 23, with the 2026-2027 budget proposal as a key agenda item. Early-stage budget deliberations are underway as the district begins shaping its spending plan for the next fiscal year.

The Ad-Hoc Facilities Master Plan & Bassick Decommissioning Committee met on February 19 to continue work on the district's long-term facilities strategy, including the future of Bassick High School. The committee emphasized the need for community input and data-driven planning. No final decisions were made.

The Ad-Hoc Advocacy Committee met twice this week, on February 24 and 25, to review the district's engagement with the state legislature. Members evaluated their performance at recent Appropriations and Education Committee hearings, reviewed legislative timelines, and planned next steps for securing state education funding.
