Residents with a pre-paid Residential Permit Account can access the facility Monday–Friday 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM and Saturday 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM.

Sticker / Permit Requirements

No sticker or coupon is needed for standard residential drop-off. Present a picture ID with a New Haven address when you arrive. The attendant will scan your ID. A pre-paid Residential Permit Account is available for extended weekday access.

  • Yard waste: Brush, tree limbs, trees (under 6" diameter), stumps (under 21"), leaves, grass clippings — all must be free of rocks, dirt, and trash

  • Textiles: Clothing, shoes, linens
  • Electronics: Computers, monitors, printers, TVs
  • Mattresses: Clean and dry mattresses and box springs
  • Scrap metal

Hazardous Waste Collection

New Haven residents can dispose of household hazardous waste at HazWaste Central, located at 90 Sargent Drive, New Haven. This facility is operated by the Regional Water Authority and accepts paint, chemicals, motor oil, pesticides, and more. Check the RWA website for current hours.
