The East Haven Landfill on Commerce Street is open to East Haven residents for household waste and bulky item disposal. The facility operates Friday and Saturday only during the regular season, with a reduced winter schedule. Payment is by debit or credit card only — no cash or checks. Dump passes are no longer needed.

Winter Schedule (January – February)
Open Fridays and the 3rd Saturday of each month only, 8:30 AM – 3:00 PM.
Closed on holidays. Call Public Works for updates on holiday closings.
East Haven Landfill Residency Requirements
No sticker or dump pass is required. You must present proof of East Haven residency at the gate:
- Valid Connecticut driver's license with East Haven address, OR
- Property tax bill
All materials must come from an East Haven residence.

Hazardous Waste Collection
Hazardous waste is not accepted at the landfill. East Haven residents can bring hazardous materials to HazWaste Central at 90 Sargent Drive, New Haven, operated by the Regional Water Authority.
