The one-time brush collection covers all sections of Wallingford. Any street missed will not receive a second pass.
Wallingford Sets One-Time Brush Pickup for April 6; All Brush Must Be Curbside by April 5
The Wallingford Department of Public Works has announced a one-time brush pickup for all sections of the town beginning Monday, April 6, 2026. Residents who want their brush collected must place it at the curb no later than Sunday, April 5.
The department will not return to any street after it has been picked up, so residents who miss the window will need to dispose of brush on their own or bring it to the town's Compost Center on John Street at no charge.
Brush Must Be Properly Bundled
The Department of Public Works has outlined specific requirements for brush to qualify for pickup:
- Branches may be no longer than 4 feet and no wider than 6 inches in diameter
- All bundles must be tied with twine — not wire or plastic straps
- Piles must be light enough for one person to lift into a truck
- Brush that is not tied in bundles will not be picked up
Compost Center Available for Those Who Miss Pickup
Residents who are unable to have their brush ready by April 5, or who miss the pickup window on their street, can bring brush to the Wallingford Compost Center located on John Street. The town accepts brush at the facility at no charge to residents.
The Compost Center is the primary alternative for brush disposal year-round. Residents with large quantities of material may find it more practical to make multiple trips to the facility rather than relying solely on the curbside pickup.
When to Expect Crews on Your Street
The department has not published a street-by-street schedule for the pickup. Crews will work through all sections of Wallingford beginning April 6, but the order in which individual streets are serviced has not been announced. Because the town will not return to already-completed streets, residents who are unsure whether their street has been covered should have their brush curbside by April 5 at the latest.
Residents with questions about the brush pickup can contact the Wallingford Department of Public Works. The official announcement is posted on the town's website at wallingfordct.gov.

Residents are encouraged to monitor the town's official website and social media channels for any changes or updates to the April 6 brush pickup schedule.
