Nicole Carbone, 41, faces narcotics and risk of injury charges after DEA and FBI task force assisted East Haven police in back-to-back raids
East Haven Police Arrest Woman on Drug Charges for Second Time in Under a Month
An East Haven woman was arrested for the second time in 23 days after police say she continued selling drugs from her Holland Road home despite being released on $200,000 bond from her first arrest, according to the East Haven Police Department.
Nicole Carbone, 41, was taken into custody during the early morning hours of February 13 after investigators executed a search and seizure warrant at her residence. Officers from East Haven police, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and FBI task force officers assisted in the operation, WFSB reported.
Police seized powder cocaine, crack cocaine, methamphetamine pills, and a digital scale from the home. Carbone was charged with three counts of illegal possession of a controlled substance as a second offense, possession of drug paraphernalia, sale of narcotics, and risk of injury to a child. She was held on $200,000 bond and appeared in New Haven Superior Court the following morning.
East Haven Arrest in January Yielded 141 Grams of Fentanyl
Carbone's first arrest occurred on January 21, when East Haven police and the FBI Safe Streets Gang Task Force executed a warrant at the same Holland Road residence, the Hartford Courant reported.
That raid yielded approximately 141 grams of fentanyl, 46.7 grams of cocaine and crack cocaine, 55.1 grams of methamphetamine, a large amount of cash, and packaging materials consistent with drug distribution. She was charged with four counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession with intent to sell, operating a drug factory, possession of drug paraphernalia, and risk of injury to a minor.
Carbone posted the $200,000 bond and was released. According to East Haven police, investigators soon developed information indicating she had resumed distributing narcotics from and around her home.
Federal Agencies Involved in East Haven Drug Investigation
The involvement of federal agencies in both arrests signals the scope of the investigation. The DEA participated in the February 13 operation, while the FBI Safe Streets Gang Task Force assisted in the January 21 raid.
The FBI Safe Streets Gang Task Force coordinates federal, state, and local law enforcement to target drug trafficking organizations and violent gangs. The task force's New Haven division has previously conducted multi-defendant investigations in East Haven, including a September 2024 operation that resulted in seven arrests connected to a counterfeit pill operation.
East Haven police have not disclosed whether additional arrests are expected in connection with the Carbone investigation.
Risk of Injury Charges Filed in Both East Haven Arrests
Carbone faces risk of injury to a child charges stemming from both the January and February arrests. Connecticut law classifies risk of injury to a minor as a felony when drugs or drug paraphernalia are present in a home where children reside or have access.
The charge carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison. Combined with the narcotics and drug factory charges from both arrests, Carbone faces significant prison time if convicted on all counts.
Carbone was released on bond after her first arrest and returned to the same Holland Road address where, according to police, she resumed the same activity that led to the initial charges. The second warrant was executed 23 days later.
Carbone's cases are pending in New Haven Superior Court. No trial dates have been set.
