Branford Resident Stickers Now Available for 2026–2028 Cycle

Branford residents can now pick up their biennial resident sticker at the Tax Collector's Office, according to the Town of Branford. The sticker, which is valid through March 31, 2028, costs $5 and provides access to the town's parks and its Transfer Station and Recycling Center.

The stickers were announced as available in mid-March 2026 at the start of the new two-year cycle.

What the Sticker Provides

A Branford resident sticker allows the holder to park at Foote Park and Parker Park, two of the town's recreational facilities, and to bring materials to the Transfer Station and Recycling Center free of charge. Some restrictions apply to the types of materials eligible for free drop-off at the transfer station.

Residents who need to make a one-time trip to the transfer station in a vehicle that is not eligible for a sticker — such as a borrowed truck — can purchase a trip pass instead. Each trip pass costs $1, is good for one trip, and is valid for 30 days from the date of purchase.

Who Qualifies for a Free Sticker

Residents 65 years of age or older are eligible to receive a sticker at no charge. Branford Volunteer Firefighters are also eligible for a free sticker.

All other Branford residents pay the $5 fee.

How to Get a Sticker

Stickers are issued by the Branford Tax Collector's Office. Residents can reach the office at (203) 315-0672 for information on hours, required documentation, and how to obtain or renew a sticker.

The stickers expire on March 31 of even-numbered years. The current cycle expires March 31, 2028.

Context: Park and Transfer Station Access in Branford

The resident sticker program is one of Branford's primary tools for limiting access to its parks and transfer station to residents who pay into the town's tax base. Non-residents who park at Foote Park or Parker Park without a sticker may be subject to fines.

Foote Park, located on Branford's coastline, includes a beach area popular during the summer months. Parker Park (also known as Parker Memorial Park, or Branford Point) is another waterfront facility. Both parks see heavy use in warmer weather, with resident sticker requirements in place to prioritize access for Branford taxpayers.

The Transfer Station and Recycling Center serves as Branford's primary facility for household waste disposal and recycling. Resident sticker holders are typically able to drop off eligible materials without additional fees, while non-resident access requires separate arrangements.

Town Services Update

The biennial sticker program reduces the annual administrative load of re-issuing stickers every year. Branford's two-year cycle aligns with the expiration schedule used by the current and prior sticker generations.

Residents who obtained stickers in the 2024–2026 cycle should note that those stickers expired March 31, 2026, and will need to obtain new stickers for continued park and transfer station access.
