The Quinnipiac Post is a digital-first local news publication dedicated to covering south central Connecticut — the I-91 corridor from Meriden to New Haven and surrounding towns. Founded in 2026, we are an independent, locally operated newsroom focused on the stories that matter most to our communities.
Our Mission
We believe every community deserves dedicated, consistent local journalism. As local newsrooms across Connecticut and the nation continue to shrink or close, many of the towns we cover have lost regular reporting on the decisions that directly affect residents' lives. The Quinnipiac Post exists to fill that gap.
Our mission is to inform, engage, and connect the residents of south central Connecticut through honest, independent reporting on local government, education, development, public safety, and community life.
What We Cover
From town council meetings and school board decisions to community events and local business news, The Quinnipiac Post covers the stories that directly affect your daily life. Our beats include:
- Local government — town councils, boards of education, planning & zoning commissions
- Land use & development — zoning changes, construction projects, infrastructure
- Public safety — crime, courts, emergency services
- Education — school districts, budgets, programs
- Community life — events, nonprofits, local business
- Regional & state issues — when they affect our coverage area
Our Coverage Area
We serve communities along the Quinnipiac River valley and throughout south central Connecticut. Our primary coverage area includes 19 towns: Wallingford, Meriden, New Haven, North Haven, Hamden, Cheshire, East Haven, Branford, West Haven, Orange, Woodbridge, Durham, Guilford, North Branford, Bethany, Prospect, Southington, Middletown, and Bridgeport.
Editorial Independence
The Quinnipiac Post operates independently. Our editorial decisions are made solely by our newsroom — advertisers, political figures, and outside interests have no influence on what we cover or how we cover it. We maintain a strict separation between editorial content and advertising. For our full policies, see our editorial standards and corrections policy.
